”So much pain and glory lived at once!/
For it was this earth and home so close/
the landing path never reached/
by seven beings of light who die/
to live and live forever
in the eternal fields of God//
In heavy grief involved , we mourn/
the mighty ship in heavy thunder lost/
"so close to home, so close to home"//* (George W.Bush)
Seven beings of light remain today,/
in mighty wonder, by storm of fire/
deployed forever to the sky beyond;/
in eternal flame of glory/
to be known forever,/
engraved we read/
with sadness felt so many times before,/
seven glorious names of light:/
Rich, Laurel, Michael,
Kalpana, Ilan, David,
William...
"If some goes wrong, I will go on higher*/(Laurel Clark)/
for she saw life, emerge from a tiny cocoon,/
suspended miracle in pupal stage,/
for all to see and feel a little like God himself./
”Oh, Ilan Ramon of Israel!
may "the quiet of outer space"
you dreamt to be the shawl of peace
to involve your troubled land,
spread one day over all mankind,
from Jerusalem to the very ends of heaven.
--
In grief we respond and cry in silent pain;/
but with "unbroken faith,/ not an option,
a desire of human kind,/ we will fly again"// *(George W.Bush)
For in their nebulous path of glorious dust/
we must renew our faith in God and Might/
and meet we must our debt/
to seven beings of light:/
They went to heaven in search of Peace,/
and in Peace, we will return again.//
